Toddler Daycare
Our Toddler Care at Brighton Academy includes 12 months through 36 months.
Here at Brighton Academy, we know that consistency helps toddlers develop a sense of security and trust. In a stable and nurturing environment, young children are quicker to grow and develop.
Our consistent daily routines make it possible for toddlers to actively engage in play, exploration, and learning.
All little ones have daily outdoor time as appropriate throughout the year. We monitor the weather and air quality conditions before bringing children outside in order to avoid exposing them to extreme or unhealthy conditions.
We use 4 key components in our toddler school.

1
Relationships
At our Brighton daycare, we spend time observing, communicating, and interacting with each child and their family, building up relationships and developing trust. As each toddler becomes comfortable and secure in their new school environment, they feel increasingly free to explore, play, interact, and attend to the inborn learning agenda that drives development at this period of life.
2
Routines
Routines matter immensely in the toddler group setting. Care such as meals, nap time, and potty training aid are all building blocks to a successful future. This nurturing encourages the development of healthy physical-motor, language-cognitive, and social-emotional skills even at a young age.
3
Environment
Indoors and outdoors, we believe that a healthy environment is extremely important. How we design space, arrange equipment, provide materials, set up activities, and sequence events are all important aspects that allow toddlers to discover, interact, and connect with the world around them.
4
Play
As children play, they decide where and how to spend their time, choose objects to manipulate and people with whom to interact, follow their own interests, and meet their own needs.
In toddler daycare, play is a crucial context for growth, development, and learning. As toddlers play, they make connections and build knowledge about the world around them. They are “sensorimotor learners”, moving their bodies, using all of their senses, manipulating objects, and interacting with people. Freely choosing materials, activities, and interaction partners; actively experimenting and creating; encountering the new and repeating the familiar— play is a powerful context for development in all domains, whether physical, motor, emotional, social, language, or cognitive.
